Q: Who must register and enter information through the D.G.A. Effective Water Extraction Monitoring Software?

What is the Effective Water Extraction Monitoring System (MEE) for groundwater?

It corresponds to a set of rules and procedures that the D.G.A. established by D.G.A. Resolution No. 1238 (Exempt) of June 21, 2019, which determines the technical conditions and deadlines at the national level to comply with the obligation to install and maintain a system for monitoring and transmitting effective extractions in groundwater collection works.

What are the requirements that owners have to implement their works to comply with the standard?

The requirements are differentiated according to the total authorized flow of a work. The higher the total flow, the greater the requirement for the owner. Water Use Rights holders must install the Measurement and Transmission System at one of the (standard) requirement levels indicated in D.G.A. (Exempt) resolution No. 1238 of June 21, 2019, which are as follows: Very Small, Lower, Medium and Higher Flows.

Which measurement system is the responsibility of the holders of exploitation rights to install and operate?

For very small flows: It consists of a flowmeter to measure extracted volume, and the flow can be obtained in two ways: for the equipment to deliver the flow directly, or for the user to calculate it based on the volume delivered by the equipment.
Basic: It consists of a flow meter the same as that indicated for the very small flow measurement system and equipment that allows measuring water levels, which in this case can be portable.
General: It consists of a flow meter the same as that indicated for the very small flow measurement system. In addition to a sensor for measuring water level and a system for storing data in the collection work (Data Logger).

What type of transmission system is the responsibility of owners of exploitation rights to install and operate?

Via Form: It consists of entering directly into the D.G.A. Effective Extraction Monitoring Software the flow, volume and water table data taken in the field from the Flowmeter and Pozometer (the latter is not mandatory for Standard Very Small Flows).
